Here are some quick tips on getting higher:

While what we will be suggesting here might not necessarily improve how effective loose leaf is if you use it for medicinal purposes, the aim here is to provide tips to improve your overall pot experience, which might help make things better.

Loose leaf is an integral part of many people’s lives. Whether for personal use in a social setting/singular setting or for medical purposes, it’s undeniable that marijuana is gaining in popularity among different demographics and is fueling a worldwide trade situation that’s a win-win for everyone.

Are you tired of vaping dry herbs?

If you answered yes, wax may be the right thing for you. But some people don’t know what it is or how to vape it.

--->In this article, I will cover all the basics of wax and vaping wax.

Mind you, these aren’t necessarily professionally curated opinions, instead are just some things we’ve tried ourselves that we think are pretty kick-ass, with some of them having its roots in research and science, so enjoy! This is especially helpful for people who feel like they aren’t getting high anymore and are willing to try a few things out to see if they work!

1.Make sure your environment is lit

vaping environment

A good environment can take your high to the next level, while a bad one can ruin you and your friends’ experience

In this case, literally too, depending on whether that’s your jam or not. For some people, a quiet and dark environment works, while for others it’s more of a well lit and happening scene that does the job. That’s only one of many things you can do to make sure your high gets better though.

For example, after asking a few potheads about some things they do immediately after a toke, things like “I clean my room” or “I look for water” were strikingly common, and that’s where pre-sesh prep really makes a difference.

It may not seem like much, but for those easily stimulated by what’s around them and what they need, prep beforehand can make or break how you feel, with poor environment and prep possibly ruining a good high, so make sure you don’t fall into that trap.

2.Light some incense or sage

vaping atmosphere

Loose leaf heightens your sense of smell, with pleasant smells boosting your mood and high. Incense and Sage can really change your high and make it relaxing and pleasant.

Smell is a criminally underrated and underutilized aspect of getting high. Why would smell affect your high, you ask?

Well, it’s a known fact that your 5 senses go on overdrive after smoking up and smell can play a huge role in impacting your mood and overall feelings, especially when high.

You must be wondering, however, if there’s actually any science to a heightened sense of smell when it comes to loose leaf or if it’s just another of the many myths that potheads tend to believe in.

This isn’t one of those scenarios, with research conducted by French scientists suggesting that THC affects our CB1 receptor (cannabinoid receptor type 1) enough for it to heighten our sense of smell, emulating what we do when we feel hungry, which explains, at least partially, why we get the munchies! Pretty cool, isn’t it?

This is why we recommend incense: something like sage or an agarbatti can really be transformative and get your blood flowing, creating a nice ambiance and keeping the energy and mind high!

Honestly though, any pleasant smell that you like is likely to do the trick, but certain types of smells and tastes can really make a difference. We’ll get to why in the next point!

3.Eat some mangoes!

(bonus points for dark chocolate)

Probably seems really weird: what the f**k will mangoes do to make me higher than usual?

Well, mangoes have a terpene called myrcene terpenes (that you can now find in many types of strains) that releases a wonderful fragrance that enhances your high pretty significantly.

It interacts with your bloodstream and when consumed before a sesh allows the THC to interact with it, which in turn magnifies the intensity and also the duration of your cannabis high, which is pretty rad.

Additionally, mangoes are a healthy snack rich in vitamin A that helps reduce cravings, so instead of running to grab a pack of crisps, you can eat a mango or two and chill!

Mangoes contain Myrcene Terpenes, which when released give a wonderful fragrance that enhances one’s high significantly. Many strains now come added with the terpene to boost highs

As for dark chocolate, well, there’s a reason why pot brownies are such a big thing. While obviously, eating edibles even without chocolate will definitely have you flying for a long time, it’s the combination of dark chocolate and loose leaf that really gets things going. Why?

Because larger amounts of cacao, which is what most real chocolate is made of, affects the receptor in the brain that’s responsible for anandamide, which is a chemical that is responsible for feelings of joy/bliss/euphoria.

Dark Chocolate contains antioxidants and breaks down anandamide, our joy/euphoria cortex in the brain when combined with loose leaf

More precisely, cacao breaks anandamide down, which means you’ll feel high for a longer period of time and it’ll feel more potent too.

Bonus point: dark chocolate with very little sugar is an excellent anti-oxidant, so it’ll keep things loosey-goosey.

4.Become a gym bro/sis before you toke

Have you been slacking off on that new year’s resolution to get fit and hit the gym? Well, here’s another motivation to get your butt off the couch and head to the gym or do any exerting physical exercise really. Much like alcohol, where a lack of food or an increase in physical activity gets you drunk quicker, loose leaf also works very well when you’re a little dehydrated and the juices flowing well.

Exercising before a toke is said to help reduce your tolerance due to an increase in the amount of THC your blood can absorb. It’s also great for recovery and relaxation

This is backed up by research of course, which found that an increase in exercise increases the amount of THC in your blood by over 15%.

On a more autobiographical note, loose leaf’s relaxing nature combined with the fact that you get much higher more quickly is one of the main reasons why we prefer to almost exclusively smoke up after some intense exercise. That combined with some nice incense and some tasty mangoes sure make things pretty groovy and rad!

5.Drink some tea/green tea

green tea vaping

Green tea or normal tea might be stimulant, but it helps with feelings of relaxation and calm because catechin in the tea interacts with CB1 to keep things cool

It may seem weird to drink a stimulant like tea when you’re vaping/consuming a stimulant like loose leaf, but the interesting thing about tea is that it’s full of antioxidants, so while in a session, make sure you sip some tea along with it as well!

But how will tea really help?

Well, tea has an antioxidant called catechin that interacts with our CB1 receptors, bringing on feelings of relaxation, calm and euphoria.

It’s a great replacement for working out, especially for those couch potatoes who hate physical exercise. While the effect won’t be as intense, it’s still decent enough for you to feel a kick. There’s a reason why “cannabis tea” is a thing, and this is the main reason for it.

6.If all else fails, take a tolerance break

You’ve tried everything on this list and then some and have realized that none of these tips and tricks seem to have any effect on your high, or lack thereof.

Yes, it’s definitely annoying and infinitely made worse when you’re having a good time with friends and you’re just not at the same level, making you feel like a third wheel, an odd one out. In such a scenario, taking a break from loose leaf from anywhere between a week or a month can help get things back to normal, or rather, take things to the next level.

Here are some questions related to this topic:

Sometimes taking a tolerance break for a few weeks/months might just be the only solution if you feel like nothing seems to be helping you out

Ideally, we’d suggest taking a break that lasts longer than a month, as THC can stay in the system for over 60 days in regular tokers. When your body is completely devoid of THC and you’ve seen life on the other side, kick back and have some of that crazy strong reefer which will most definitely get you high as a kite and flying like a fighter jet in the upper echelons of the atmosphere. If not, there’s always pot brownies. There’s always a solution is you look for it hard enough!

Why am I not getting high from carts?

It's possible your body has become more used to the effects of cannabis, which is called tolerance. Cannabis tolerance happens when your body becomes used to a substance and then you need more of it to get the same effect.

Generally, it could be the potency of what's in the cartridge. Most carts average 80mgs of THC.

To get higher from cart, do the following:

  • Switch it up! use wax or dry herb for a while
  • Take a tolarence breake
  • Try a different strain, supplier.

Here is a great video on how to get high on cart.

How to not be high anymore?

There are few things can effect your "high" state such as:

  • the potency of the weed (THC% )
  • prior experience with marijuana
  • genetic factors (how quickly THC breaks down in your body)
  • other drugs or substances, such as alcohol
  • the environment you are in

When someone consumes marijuana in food or drink (edibles) rather than inhaling it, the psychoactive effects tend to kick in much later because the THC must first experience the gastrointestinal system.

It can take up to three hours before an individual feels any effects of marijuana. Some people may get impatient while waiting to urge high and consume more.

This may cause people feeling ‘too high’ because they're experiencing a reaction from two doses.

Few tips to help you get "less high":

Try water and light snacks

Whether you prefer water or juice, make sure you have a nice, cold beverage on hand. If you’re feeling the results of your strain a touch too aggressively, keep one's eyes off from alcohol because it can increase THC blood concentrations.

Relax! No-one "stayed high" forever:)

This is easier said than done when you’ve overindulged. But a little R&R really will help tame the buzz. And trust us: You’re not dying. Really.

Don’t panic

Give it some time and these feelings will eventually pass, trust us.

Eat pine nuts

Distract yourself

Watch a movie, or just do something to channel your focus to a different topic.

Some of these solutions have been vetted by science and research, while some of them come merely from personal experience, in which case it may differ from case to case.

Dry herb’s effect is a subjective experience, after all, and its combinations with other substances will lead to a differing level of effect. Whether that may happen is up in the air, but what we do know is that there won’t be any alarming side effects or quirky results that make you feel funny. Either way, relax, grab a bite and soar high!
